Tax Loophole of Doom

In 1978, despite League leaders campaigning against the measure, California voters passed Prop 13. Hidden inside was a corporate loophole that allowed big business to pocket 11 billion dollars annually—money that should have gone to schools, health clinics, and local communities.

And now our coalition of heroes is launching an initiative campaign to close that loophole come November! The California Schools and Local Communities Funding Act of 2018 will require commercial property to be reassessed at FAIR market value—leveling the playing field for small businesses and ensuring local communities can fund education and vital services.
